Welcome to Historic Downtown Brunswick
Revitalized historical town within the mainland entry port to the Golden Isles offers a peek into the colonial past and a thriving business district
Charming and picturesque, Historic Downtown Brunswick is the biggest attraction to the mainland entry port to the Golden Isles. Victorian architecture, colonial history, pristine parks, and many offerings make for a wonderful day strolling the oak-shaded streets. Brunswick overlooks the famed saltwater marshes and the illustrious Atlantic Ocean, and the historic district is brimming with a sense of grandeur and reverence.
Apart from the magnificent Victorian constructs, colonial buildings have also been preserved or restored with pride. Shops, galleries, restaurants, and theaters comprise the makeup of Old Town. Take in a show at the Ritz Theatre or try the world-famous Brunswick Stew at one of the many acclaimed eateries in town. Walking through the grid of plans and squares originally conceived by General James Oglethorpe more than two centuries ago, you'll feel as if you've been transported to 1771.
