Delaney's is a neighborhood bistro and bar featuring local seafood, prime steaks, and a tapas menu. They have daily specials and offer a fresh variety of seafood, steak, and specialty game served alongside innovative cocktails and wines. Halyards, another island staple, offers creative twists on classic American cuisine and a lively bar setting as well as outdoor seating. 
 
For seafood, you can't go wrong with The Crab Trap, one of the longest-standing restaurants on St. Simons Island. An island tradition for more than four decades, The Crab Trap has been owned and operated by the same family who opened the doors in 1975. This low-key seafood restaurant and bar serves some of the island's freshest seafood in a fun, nautical setting. 
 
Apart from The Crab Trap, Crabdaddy's is an island staple that’s been serving coastal favorites for over 20 years. House specialties include fresh grilled, blackened, fried, and steamed seafood, plus excellent desserts and hand-selected steaks.  And don’t leave without trying the bread pudding!
 

Things to Do

There are a variety of entertainment venues, fun events, and family-friendly attractions to keep residents busy in St. Simons Island. Each year on July 4th, the annual St. Simons Island Sunshine Festival is held in the Pier Park Village. This 60-year island tradition features a dazzling fireworks display, a 5k, a 1-mile fun run, and much more. It's considered the family-friendly event of the summer season.
 
Creatives flock to the annual Fall Arts Festival, also held in the Pier Village, each September. For more than 50 years, this beautiful fall tradition is an open and free community event hosting artists from around the region. Seventy artists and craftspeople are invited to present original two and three-dimensional art, jewelry, textiles, ceramics, sculpture, photography, and more. Apart from the showcase, the event also features food, music, a parade, and a "Kid's Creation Station."
 
Music lovers look forward to the A Little Light Music festival each year, taking place on the oceanfront lawn beneath the historic Lighthouse. It's an extraordinary summer concert series that also doubles as a fundraising event.
 
St. Simons Island is also the birthplace of the RSM Classic, a golf tournament on the PGA Tour played each autumn in Georgia. It first debuted in 2010 at the Sea Island Golf Club and has continued to occur here year after year. The tournament has significantly expanded over the past decade.
 

Schools

St. Simons Island is part of the Glynn County School district. There are two public elementary schools on the island as well as two private schools. For middle school and high school, most students attend school on the mainland in historic downtown Brunswick.
